Abstract

This essay provides an overview of the collective work of an international team of English-speaking authors supported by the International Foundation for Muslim Theology. This collective monograph is the first of its kind, postulating a transition from a “static” study of Islamic law to a “dynamic” theology that responds to the urgent spiritual needs of the present day. The collection highlights the problematic nature of the term “Islamic theology”, instead recognising the multiplicity of Muslim theological perspectives. This includes “insider” researchers who act not only as analysts, but also as continuators of the Prophet Muḥammad's mission of spiritual guidance. Bringing together the works of experts from various fields, the collection creates a platform for dialogue between traditional Islamic knowledge and modern academic tools. The publication is intended for a broad readership, ranging from university circles to Islamic educational institutions.
